From ASAC Retreat Minutes came up with
ASAC Mission Statement: To Preserve, Promote and Perpetuate Olelo
To protect and preserve integrity of Olelo as a community resource.
A bi-directional channel for communication between the community and Olelo.
A convener for community producers to bring forth community issues to Olelo.
Goals:
To recommend policies and changes for the benefit of the organization as a whole.
Advocate for due process and fair treatment of all.
To provide a safe environment.
Advise on policies and issues of concern.
Michelle Turner gave an update report on upcoming ASAC election.
Discussed having a potential candidate forum
Deadline has been extended to July 23, 2002

up but she didn’t get much response – requesting ASAC Chat Line, put on

Discussed ASAC would sponsor open public forums that could also be video taped.

Report Volunteer Recognition – Discussed having ASAC develop and present
a
Volunteer Recognition Award ex: ASAC should present an award for the Waianae
Kids. Suggest having a quarterly award for volunteers. ASAC must have to
come with
criteria. Committee opened it up to ideas from community producers.
Jeff volunteered to submit quarterly award for volunteers.
Kealii presented new Matrix for ASAC attendance
Kealii reported new producers get two new tapes for each program they turn in.
Michele reported Open Mic Service – Jim Brewer and Michele Turner were
not able to
meet. However Oahu Speaks has been changed recording dates to Wed &
Sat.
Rpt on Mini Studio staff is currently looking at using Feather Pac, include
it live to
tape.
